Welcome! I’m Jan Guenther—entrepreneur, endurance athlete, mom, and founder of Gear West Ski Bike & Run. After 40 years of building business, competing at an elite lever, and navigating every transition midlife delivers, I built Gals with Grit for women who refuse to wind down.

Meet Jan, Program Designer and Your Coach

  • 33+ years building and leading Gear West Ski & Bike, a specialty sports retail campus in Long Lake, MN.

  • Mom/wife who raised two boys while balancing athletics, building a business from ground up and other life challenges.

  • Competed in endurance sport since the early 1980s — Ironman triathlons, Olympic cross-country ski trials, and national races in triathlon, XC skiing, and paddling.

    · Built and led women's sport programs for decades, introducing women to the challenges and rewards of human-powered adventure.

  • Faced and overcame adversity — in business, sport, and health.

  • Created proven systems to move forward through aging and life’s adversities and find energy and fulfillment
